A supercapacitor is an energy storage system which, compared to batteries, contains less energy but charges and discharges much faster. It is therefore more suitable than a battery to satisfy an immediate demand for power, for this reason the two devices are not alternative but complementary.

At the moment, however, the integration of supercapacitors in vehicles involves several problems, all derived from the presence of liquid inside them. Novac solves these problems by developing a new generation of completely solid supercapacitors, using innovative materials and procedures. In addition to being completely solid, the developed supercapacitor is moldable. Thanks to this property, it is possible to adapt it to different surfaces and volumes for each individual case, reducing the overall dimensions and facilitating the design of the vehicle.
