FAAM-Energy Saving Battery is consolidating its presence in the advanced energy storage technology sector with a gigafactory dedicated to the production of lithium-ion cells in Teverola.

The facility is designed to reach a planned production capacity of up to 8 GWh and will focus on the manufacture of high-performance prismatic cells for BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) applications. This strategic infrastructure aims to strengthen advanced battery production in Southern Europe, contributing to the consolidation of the continental supply chain in a sector considered key to the energy transition.

The project is part of the company’s broader sustainable growth strategy, focused on developing technological expertise and increasing internal production capacity. The objective is twofold: on the one hand, to support the growing demand for energy storage systems in industrial and infrastructure applications; on the other, to reinforce European autonomy in a high value-added sector that is highly competitive at a global level.

A decisive factor in this journey is the collaboration with the technology partner Dürr, which has supported the company in key stages of the production process, from coating to solvent recovery and finishing. This synergy aims to ensure high quality standards and efficiency in industrial processes.

The Teverola gigafactory represents a fundamental milestone in the company’s roadmap toward technological autonomy, industrial sustainability, and long-term value creation for the entire European battery ecosystem.

Innovative technologies for the production and recycling of electric and hybrid vehicles, serving the automotive, transport, and industrial sectors, will be presented at E-Tech Europe, taking place from October 7 to 9, 2026 at BolognaFiere as part of Urban Tech 2026 – The Urban Technology Show, the new event dedicated to e-mobility, traffic, commuting, security, TLC & data, and the environment.
