FEV and CEER, Strategic Collaboration for Electric Vehicles in Saudi Arabia
2 March 2026Flexis announces that its three founding shareholders, Renault Group, Volvo Group, and CMA CGM Group, have reached an agreement, enabling Renault Group to acquire full ownership of the company. This agreement marks a major milestone for the project and provides the stable foundation needed to accelerate its development and bring transformative solutions to urban logistics.
Under the agreement, Renault Group is acquiring the shares currently held by Volvo Group (45%) and CMA CGM Group (10%), positioning the company to complete the full development and industrialization of the next generation of fully electric light commercial vehicles. This change in governance would strengthen the project without altering its product ambition or industrial roadmap. Volvo Group remains a partner of Flexis, with Renault Trucks set to distribute the vehicles from 2027 onwards.
This change in governance does not alter either the product ambition or the original industrial plan aiming to provide breakthrough products and services in the electric medium van range. Renault Group’s teams will continue to fully pursue this ambitious project, convinced of the potential of this new generation of range of electric vans, beginning with Renault Trafic Van E‑Tech electric from late 2026 onward. In France, nearly 1,300 people are working on its development across various Renault Group sites in the Île‑de‑France region, through to industrialization at the Group’s Sandouville plant in Normandy.
Volvo Group, through Renault Trucks, will distribute these products from 2027, in continuity with the long‑standing relationship between Renault Group and Renault Trucks for light commercial vehicles.
Innovative technologies for the production and recycling of electric and hybrid vehicles for the automotive, transport and industrial sectors will be showcased at E-Tech Europe, from 7 to 9 October 2026 at BolognaFiere, as part of Urban Tech 2026 – The Urban Technology Show, the new event dedicated to e-mobility, traffic, commuting, security, TLC & data, and the environment.
