Renault takes full control of Flexis: a new phase begins for electric vans
2 March 2026The Chair of Production Engineering of E-Mobility Components (PEM) of RWTH Aachen University has published the third edition of the Battery Atlas.
The document is the result of months of work and aims to provide a clear, up-to-date and visually accessible representation of the European industrial landscape in the battery sector – a strategic field for the continent’s energy transition and technological competitiveness.
The 2026 edition includes ten comprehensive thematic maps designed to offer a compact yet in-depth tool to understand the geographical distribution, key players and major dynamics shaping the European battery value chain.
While not claiming to be exhaustive in absolute terms, the Atlas strives to achieve the highest possible level of completeness. For this reason, the institute invites industry operators, companies and stakeholders to contribute suggestions and report additional initiatives or projects to be included in future editions, with a view to continuous updating and improvement.
With this new publication, the PEM Institute of RWTH Aachen University further strengthens its role as a qualified observer and analytical hub within the European battery industry landscape.
Innovative technologies for the production and recycling of electric and hybrid vehicles for the automotive, transport and industrial sectors will be showcased at E-Tech Europe, from 7 to 9 October 2026 at BolognaFiere, as part of Urban Tech 2026 – The Urban Technology Show, the new event dedicated to e-mobility, traffic, commuting, security, TLC & data, and the environment.
